David was President, former Chairman and co-founder of Samworth Brothers Limited, a major food manufacturer who own the Ginsters and Dickinson & Morris brands and supply a wide range of high quality, chilled, own label products to high street retailers. Since retiring from the business in summer 2005, David continued his involvement in a range of local projects, most notably in education where he became the co-sponsor of Academies. Sir David Samworth sadly passed away on the 17th August 2022. The Diocese of Southwell was founded in 1884. It covers 847 square miles including the whole of Nottinghamshire and a few parishes in South Yorkshire. The Diocese includes the city of Nottingham and many former coalfield communities and it changed its name to The Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham at the end of 2005. The Diocesan Board of Education oversees both primary and secondary Church of England schools. Nigel is the Director of Education for the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. Previously Nigel was the Principal of Drumragh Integrated College, a secondary school in Omagh, Northern Ireland. His professional career started in 1985 as an English teacher. His interests include great music and really good coffee. His heroes include Jesus Christ above all, but also Martin Luther King and Snoopy.
