Mr Chris Vallance
Director of Deep Experience
Mr Vallance qualified as a teacher in 2007 at the University of Leicester. After graduating he worked in Leicester as a Head of Department and Head of Year eventually moving into Sixth Form. He moved to the Derbyshire area to be closer to family and became an Assistant Vice Principle. He joined the Academy in 2018 as the Director of Deep Experience and responsibility for Sixth Form.
Mrs Alison Pass
Sixth Form Learning Manager
Mrs Pass worked in the NHS for 26 years both full and part-time whilst having children before moving into education at The Samworth Church Academy in May 2014. She started off as Administrative Assistant before being seconded to the role of Sixth Form Learning Manager in April 2015.
Mr David Sabbagh
Head of Sixth Form
Mr Sabbagh qualified as a teacher in 2009 from the Institute of Education in London. After graduating he worked in a number of London schools as a Head of Department and Head of Year before taking on the position of Head of Sixth Form. He moved to the area to be closer to family in 2016 and has been at The Samworth Church Academy since as the Head of Sixth Form.
Mr Brett Goacher
Deputy Head of Sixth Form
Mr Goacher studied a degree in Mathematical studies with Education at Derby University and graduated in 2013. He then studied a PGCE in Secondary Education at the University of Worcester and graduated. He has worked at The Samworth Church Academy ever since, teaching mathematics. During this time, he has held roles working with Gifted & Talented students, Pupil Premium students and has been the Deputy Head of Sixth Form since 2017
Miss Georgina Beckwith
Year 12 Tutor
Miss Beckwith qualified in 2013 from Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in PE and Youth Sport followed by a PGCE in PE. She completed 2 ski seasons in 2016 and 2017 and before joining The Samworth Church Academy in 2018 she worked as a PE Teacher in various Post 16 positions teaching A Level PE & BTEC Sport Courses
Mr Alex Brompton
Alex started his career working in sales and community regeneration. He finished his ministers training in 2016 and then took up his post as part time chaplain at the Academy, becoming full time in 2018. His role is to provide support and guidance to the whole school community in matters of faith and spirituality as well as being a listening ear for anyone who needs it.
Mr Adam Cave
Mr Cave completed a BA (hons) degree in Educational Studies from the University of Hull and a Post Graduate degree in Psychology with the Open University. He has worked with students with special educational needs for the past 16 years and completed the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination in 2019. He has been with The Samworth Church Academy’s SENCo for the past 3 years whilst also teaching Computer Science.
