A Big Sports Update!

14 December 2022

We have had many successes over the last few weeks in the world of sports so we have collated a bit of a round up of everything that you might have missed!

Cross Country

On the 10th December in extremely challenging weather conditions, 3 students competed in the final Nottinghamshire Schools Cross Country race at Berry Hill Park. Year 8 students Brandon and Finley ran in the Year 8/9 competition and came 14th and 15th respectively.

Charlie in Year 9 competed and came 6th, but came second overall in the championships in the whole of Nottinghamshire.

All three students showed excellent determination in the face of difficult and challenging conditions.

Netball

The Year 7 & 8 netball team played at Brunts Academy in their very first netball match, after a difficult first quarter and some positional changes the students improved throughout the match and were excellent ambassadors for the school. The team included Autumn, Jess, Aimee, Jess, Lilly-Rose and Sophia.

Cricket

A team of Key Stage 3 & 4 students went to a cricket competition, some having never played cricket before! The team ended up winning the competition so watch this space for more! The team was made up of Sophie, Amelia, Cerys, Lucy, Katrina, Maia, Kimberley, Lacey-Mae and Jess, well done all!

Football

As the country is gripped once again by another World Cup, our Year 11 Boys Team played in a Mansfield 7 a side cup last Tuesday, similar to the cross country competition, the conditions were extreme and challenging to play in. The team played brilliantly and won their group, they will meet Joseph Whitaker School in the final in March! The team was made up of Rhys, Luke, Shabir, Jamie, Charlie, Jenson, Josh, Joe, Shae, Joe and Lewis.
