What's so special about Summer School?
- Just for you: The Academy opens its doors just for you, our new year 7 students. No other year groups will be around, so it feels like having the whole place to yourself!
- Creative and cool: Summer School is your chance to try out activities that aren't usually part of the regular school day. It's all about fun learning!
- New friends galore: You'll be with your class groups - which might be different from your tutor group - giving you loads of chances to meet even more friends.
- Exciting activities:
- Get hands-on with science experiments led by Mr Rhodes.
- Dive into new languages with Mr Copestake.
- Explore the world in Geography with Miss Peat.
- Meet amazing animals in Animal Management with Miss Price.
- Unleash your creativity in Arts and Crafts with Miss Bodycombe.
- Special guests: Afternoon sessions will be extra special with Mansfield Football Club, Mansfield Palace Theatre, and Regency Dance School all popping in to run unique activities.
Summer School Essentials
- Dress code: wear comfy clothes that you don't mind getting a bit messy - creativity can be dirty work!
- Sporty times: there will be sports, so bring sensible shoes that are good for running around.
- Food and drink: a healthy lunch is provided every day but bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
Mrs Humber will be there to make sure everyone is having the best time and to lend a helping hand whenever you need it.
