18 Year 11 students experienced a residential visit to Krakow with Mr Fenby and Ms Taylor at the end of September.

The aim of the visit was to search for the evidence of a rich Jewish culture and traced the destruction of Polish Jews from the middle ages in the Kazimierz (Jewish Quarter), the Ghetto wall, the Plac Zgody memorial to deported Jews, synagogues, houses and streets where once a Jewish community thrived and many other places besides. During their visit students and staff had an extended study tour of Auschwitz and Birkenau where they saw the evidence of the concentration camp where thousands suffered. Everyone found the visit memorable and educational about this dark and macabre period of history
