The Samworth Church Academy

Gardening Club Students Rustle Up Some Culinary Delights

12 July 2017

Samworth Church Academy Gardening Club students were taught by Mr Purcell, the Academy Chef, how to prepare beautiful and delicate tasting dishes with the produce the students have loving grown this term after school.

They made tomato mozzarella salad, roasted beetroot and feta cheese salad, broad bean and mint risotto, pasta with roasted vegetables and pesto with our kitchen garden basil.  Mrs Owen showed off her rustic culinary skills and made a warming Mexican courgette flower soup.  All the students left the Gardening Club with fully tummies, amazed by the culinary delights that can be rustled up with some master chef like skills and a few vegetables.
