An Update from the Strategic Director of Student Values

22 June 2023

Following on from recent updates we have shared with you about our new parent portal, we are pleased to confirm that we are now ready to launch our new behaviour system. The changes will be introduced at the beginning of next week. Key things you need to know and action are:

Changes will take place from Monday 26th June.

This means any behaviour events will be recorded in our new system from Monday. Any sanctions that have been set on Friday 23rd June on Satchel One will be served on Monday 26th June as normal. From Monday 26th June, you will no longer need to log into Satchel One and all notifications regarding behaviour sanctions will be sent to you through the My Child At School App at approx. 5.15pm each day. Throughout the day any behaviour events that have been added will be available to you straight away in the behaviour section of the App.

Sanctions

As we consider making permanent changes to the behaviour system from September, we would like to trial them for the rest of this term. Having considered feedback, from students, parents and staff, the key changes are that students will serve any detentions the very next day and the length of detentions will vary from 15 minutes to 90 mins, depending on the number of sanctions that have been set the previous day. The current system allows students to accrue detentions for days in advance and often, by the time they complete it they forget what it was for. These changes will help students to understand and remember what the sanction was set for and allow them to start with a clean slate each day.

We have already launched homework on the app and from next week you will need it to monitor your child’s behaviour. If you have any problems setting up or installing the app please email bromcom@tscacademy.org.uk.

Feedback

We know that for most, these changes will be welcomed however if you would like to share any further comments for improvements or feedback this is always welcomed and you can share these through the bromcom@tscacademy.org.uk email
