The Samworth Church Academy encourages staff to get involved in local and overseas community projects, supporting our students.   In 2009/10 we supported both staff and students with the following projects:

  • Mango Tree project in Tanzania
  • Shoe Box appeal for soldiers serving in Afghanistan
  • A vast range of local community projects including visiting our local senior citizens on Valentine's Day and Easter with small gifts made by the Academy students
  • Choir and Drama productions within the local community and feeder schools

The Samworth Church Academy invests both time and finance for training and development.  A wide, flexible variety of training methods and subjects are available, enabling staff to remain up-to-date and also gain higher-level qualifications for career progression.  Staff development is crucial to the success of the Academy and we pride ourselves on our commitment to continued professional development of all our staff.

During January every year the Academy undertakes a staff survey.  The entire staff respond to the survey to give their views on what it is like to work for the Academy as well commenting on the Academy’s performance and progress.  Here are just a few of this year's staff comments:
